We don’t hear much about this sort of thing. But people in Pakistan, including the Frontier, are opposed to the violence now engulfing parts of Pakistan. The peaceful nature of this protest, and the fact that all the political parties (barring, I note, the beards) participated, give me heart.

CHARSADDA: The Charsadda Press Club on Wednesday arranged a peace march against the ongoing terrorism, extremism and uncertainty in the country.
A number of social workers, activists of various organisations, groups and associations and political parties including ANP, Jamaat-e-Islami, PPP, JUI-F, PML-N and PTI participated in the march.
The rally was addressed by a number of political and social leaders, who said peace was essential for prosperous Pakistan. They said peace is the need of hour to promote brotherhood, national unity, tolerance and stability, but it is possible only when the current wave of terrorism is rooted out.
They said by taking out the procession, they were sending a message of peace to the nation and the entire world.
